Jonathan Spencer

President

After devoting 30 years to a successful career in environmental engineering, Jonathan served as Chief Operating Officer for Healing Waters International in Golden, CO from 2010 – 2013. He served as the Deacon of Missions for the Lakewood Church of Christ from 2005 – 2011 where he coordinated a variety of teams involved in international development and community outreach in India and Haiti. From 2008 – 2014 he also served on the Board of Dry Bones Denver, a non-profit committed to establishing relationships and providing restoration services to homeless teens in Denver, CO. He currently lives in Littleton, CO with his wife Rena.

Steve Curtis

Vice President

Steve currently serves as Senior Minister, Pastoral Counselor, and Celebrate Recovery Ministry Leader for the Naples Church of Christ in Naples, TX. Steve has lived or worked in a number of cross-cultural missions settings such as India, Guatemala, Siberia, Haiti, England, Australia, and New Zealand. Steve is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors and is a Certified Facilitator for "Overcome" (small group program helping those who struggle with mental health) and is both PAIR and QPR (suicide prevention) certified.

Mike Graves

Vice President, Secretary

Mike retired early from his position as VP & Manufacturing Manager in the Office Imaging Division at Eastman Kodak. This has allowed him to fulfill his desire to do charitable work and pursue his love of art and painting.

Mike has served as trustee and officer in six non-profits and he provides a wealth of administrative experience to New Horizons. He and his wife, Diane, are also active members of their church.

Tim Hillmer

Tim Hillmer taught for 32 years and served as a classroom teacher and mentor in the Boulder Valley School District. He lives in Louisville with his wife, Nancy. He has two daughters, Rachel and Carly, who are both public school teachers.

He is an active member of Common Cathedral, a ministry to the homeless, that meets every Friday night at a park in Longmont.

Christie Spencer

Christie grew up in Rochester, New York and moved out to the Midwest after graduating from St. Lawrence University with a dual degree in Biology and Psychology. She spent four years working in Madison, Wisconsin before returning to the East Coast to be closer to family.

She now resides in New Hampshire, working for an IT Consulting Firm as a Technical Recruiter. Christie has been actively involved with NHH since it’s beginnings and was excited to increase her involvement by joining the Board of Directors in October of 2017.

Margo Parks

Margo worked in corporate America for many years before deciding to get her Master’s degree in Christian Counseling and her Ph.D in Urban Ministry.

She and her husband, who is also a Christian Counselor, work together in the marriage ministry at their church and as Dynamic Marriage facilitators. They are both active members of the Littleton Church of Christ where Tyrone serves as an Elder.

Andrew Smolen

Andrew grew up in Chicago and then traveled east to obtain his Bachelor’s degree in music at James Madison University. After graduation from JMU, Andrew started his aviation career and has been in aviation ever since. He currently works for Southwest Airlines and is an avid traveler and outdoorsman.

Kelli Spencer

Kelli grew up in Colorado and has settled down in Alaska. She graduated with a degree in Business Management & Marketing. She started her own digital marketing company Northern Lights Media and volunteers with Challenge Alaska, providing adaptive individuals opportunities to engage in sports.

Kelli’s passion for NHH started with her first visit to India in 2005 and Kelli has been actively involved with NHH since it’s beginnings. She served on the board before moving into the marketing position, where her talents end expertise help New Horizons grow and impact the young women of NHH.
