Our staff in India shared with me that Samson (confirmed with Covid last week) is doing much better! He is off the ventilator and out of danger. He is currently still in the ICU, but he should be moving out soon and into a regular room at the hospital.
Douglas is also doing much better. Last week he was experiencing a fever and exhaustion, but this week he tested negative for Covid and is feeling better. Let us thank God for these answered prayers for both Samson and Douglas who are key members of the New Horizons support team in India.
It has been raining hard lately so construction on the New Horizons site has been postponed for a few days. Our India staff feel confident that it would begin again this week once the rains eased up. (I asked them to please send some of this rain to our brothers and sisters in the western U.S. who are battling the wildfires…)
It has been two weeks since the videography crew helping us prepare for our 2020 fundraising gala was on site at New Horizons House. The good news is that none of the girls and staff at New Horizons have become ill during that two week period. We deeply appreciate the care and extra safe guidelines that the New Horizons team put in place during this time in order to maintain the health and safety of the girls and staff. Amen!
Our staff in India have been working closely with the videographer who filmed and conducted interviews at the New Horizons House. Within the next two days, this individual will have the video clips ready to be sent to the U.S. for the board to preview.
That’s all for now. Please continue to keep everyone at New Horizons House in your thoughts and prayers in the days and weeks ahead.
Respectfully, Tim (Board Member) and the New Horizons House Staff
